Jamie Bush and Nathan Brown from Diverse Project Solutions in Yass have finished surveying the property. They brought their fishing rods with them and caught a few cod while they were working. Nice job! Jamie and I are distant cousins. My great grandmother was a Bush and she was brought up on the same property Jamie family still owns. It's funny but I feel I know him and he speaks my language. There is a picture of Jamie in the Gallery - can you see the resemblance?
We've received an indicative quote for this major expense. I am still not sure if I should go down this road. Power lines are so ugly and I can't be certain I will be putting them where people will want them. I would love feedback on this from any prospective purchasers.
Ben Lee (another Boorowa connection ) and his lovely wife and girls have completed the fencing. The girls have been racing their little motor bike and electric balance bike all over the place and loving life. Very cool! Anyway the fencing looks a picture. I will endeavour to get some more pics up in the gallery. Block 3 worked out to much bigger than in my original drawings and has a lot of river frontage. Block 2 actually goes right down to the Gooloogong Bridge and includes a lovely, easy to access, stretch of the river. You can drive right down close to the water - not quite as nice as the sandy beach on Block 1 but it could be easily converted to something like that.
Council has advised that Gooloogong Siding Road must be widened to a minimum of 6 metres as part of our project requirements. We are currently working through how to meet this requirement without significantly increasing overall project costs. The process is more involved than simply widening the road and includes several stages: Conducting a formal survey of the existing road Preparing detailed design plans Obtaining council approval for those plans Engaging a qualified professional to prepare a Traffic Management Plan Securing approval for the Traffic Management Plan before works can begin As you can imagine, this process is quite complex and has added an unexpected layer of work to the project. What makes this particularly challenging is that the road itself appears to have very low traffic. While neighbouring properties likely use it from time to time, it is by no means a busy road. Despite this, we are required to meet the full set of compliance standards. We will continue to work through these requirements and provide updates as we progress.
